Supporting The City College is one of the most rewarding things I do. I've chosen this year to expand the number of Lois Pope Annual Life Unsung Hero Scholarship awards there from two to four and give $100,000 for four awards each year. The tenacity and spirit of City's outstanding young students combined with the high retention rate in the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at CCNY makes it a great investment. These students have tremendous courage and they are what I call 'Unsung Heroes.' They are a fabulous example to other young people in the United States of what a well-rounded young person should be, and all without the benefit of a privileged beginning.
