I was graduated from City College in January 1943 and, quite obviously, if it hadn't been for the existence of City, I would never have gotten a college education. It is with this in mind that I've established the Anne and Bernard Spitzer Chair in Political Science at the City College of New York. This endowment will attract a leading national scholar to the school's Political Science Department. I'm delighted to make this contribution to an institution that has long demonstrated its ommitment to helping generations of New Yorkers from humble roots succeed in life.
