Gomez Receives CUNYAC Weekly Honors

Gomez hit 10-for-13 (.769) with a 1.692 slugging percentage (2 2B, 2 3B, 2 HR) with eight RBI and two stolen bases in his four games played last week. He hit 4-for-4 with a double, stolen base and RBI at Merchant Marine (April 10), before going 6-for-9 with two triples, two home runs, and seven RBI with three walks in a three-game conference series against Lehman (April 12-13). Gomez went 2-for-3 with a homer and five RBI in the second game against the Lightning, before going 3-for-3 with a triple, home run, stolen base and two RBI in the final contest of the series.

CUNYAC Rookie of the Week (12/10/07)

Rivera averaged 21 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists per contest last week for the Beavers, helping them to a 2-0 start in CUNYAC play. She was 10-for-20 from the field in filling the stat sheet with 25 points, 13 steals, seven rebounds and six assists in the conference opener against Hunter, before adding 10 points and seven assists against City Tech. Rivera (13.6 ppg in 2007-08) later scored a career-high 28 points and swiped seven steals in non-conference play versus Centenary (N.J.).
