Men’s Basketball defeated 55-81 by USMMA
Bronx, NY-The CCNY Men’s Basketball Team was defeated, 55-81, by the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Monday night at the Nat Holman Gymnasium. CCNY’s record drops to 3-16 overall.

For the Beavers, senior guard Taleek Norman (Bronx, NY) tabbed game-high 20 points and grabbed a total of 5 rebounds. On the defensive end, teammate Franklin Canales (New York, NY) grabbed 11 rebounds and was shy of a double-double by only two points, scoring 8.

For the Mariners, teammates Pat Grace and Chad Ray scored 17 points each. While freshman Matt Hueber grabbed 10 rebounds and added 8 points.

CCNY returns to action on January 23 as they travel to Hunter College for a game scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m.

CUNYAC Player of the Week (So., Jumps; Valley Stream, N.Y./August Martin HS) (2/5/2008)

Brown placed first at the Delaware Thomson Invitational (Feb. 1), winning the high jump event with a season-high leap of 6-9.75. The jump provisionally qualifies Brown for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, and was just one-half inch shy of the automatic qualification standard.
