The Beavers fall to Lehman 60-55 in overtime
Bronx, NY - After forcing a tie to end regulation the CCNY Beavers lost to Lehman College 60-55 (OT) on Wednesday night at the Nat Holman Gymnasium. The Beavers’ record falls to 4-19 overall and 2-9 in CUNYAC.

The game was extremely close in the first half, and the Beavers managed to take the lead several times stretching to . The Beavers went to the locker rooms trailing Lehman 21-23.

In the second half both teams continued to play extremely tight. At the end of the second period with one 1:41 left on the clock the Beavers were behind by two points, But a layup by Daniel Colon (New York, NY) tied the game 48-48 with only 56 seconds left in regulation, sending the game into overtime.

In overtime Lehman managed to stop the Beaver offense and tke the lead never allowing CCNY to get ahead or even tie. The game ended with a score of 60-55.

For CCNY, senior Taleek Norman tabbed 18 points and Sophomore Franklyn Dunn totaled 13 points and 11 rebounds.

CCNY returns to action on Saturday, February 9 as the take on the Bridges of Brooklyn College starting at 2:00 p.m.

CCNY (5-2 overall, 0-1 CUNYAC North) won its only game of the week, a 73-64 defeat of Mitchell College, in large part due to the play of this week’s Rookie of the Week, Ashley Straughn. The freshman center recorded game highs with 20 points and 15 rebounds. She added two assists, three steals and one blocked shot in 30 minutes of action. CCNY returns to action in two weeks, when Gallaudet University travels to the Nat Holman Gym on December 29.
