CUNYAC MEN’S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD SET
Championship Play Runs April 28 Through May 3

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The field is set for the 2009 CUNY Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Championships, held April 28 through May 3, 2009. Quarterfinals will be played on Tuesday, April 28 on campus sites. The Semifinals will be contested on Thursday, April 30 with the Finals on Sunday May 3. The Semis and Finals will be played at the USTA’s National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York. 

Earning the top seed is the College of Staten Island, who defeated second-seed Hunter College over the weekend. CSI and Hunter both finished the season with identical 7-1 records during the regular season, but CSI wins the head-to-head tiebreak. 

John Jay College earned the three seed with Baruch the four. Each team tied with identical 6-2 records through the regular season, but John Jay earned the tiebreak via head-to-head win. 

CCNY earned the five seed with a 4-4 record; Lehman earned the six seed at 3-5, Brooklyn the seven at 2-6, and York the eight at 1-7. City Tech failed to qualify for the post-season championship with an 0-8 CUNYAC record.

Quarterfinal action will see CSI host York, while Hunter will face Brooklyn. John Jay will face Lehman with Baruch and CCNY the final matchup.
