Bronx, NY - Sophomore high jumper Dean Brown competed at the Eastern Conference Athletic Conference Championships this past Saturday, March 8 at Harvard University.
Brown jumped an amazing 2.09 meters (6’10.25”) claiming first place, earning the gold. This jump also earns Brown the school record besting his own current record of 2.08 meters. He automatically qualifies to compete at the Division III NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. He will be joined by teammate Jodyann Raymond, who has provisionally qualified in the 55 meter dash event. The Championships will be held March 14 and 15 at Ohio Northern University.
AnikaRivera Women's Basketball CUNYAC Rookie of the Week (12/10/07)
Rivera averaged 21 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists per contest last week for the Beavers, helping them to a 2-0 start in CUNYAC play. She was 10-for-20 from the field in filling the stat sheet with 25 points, 13 steals, seven rebounds and six assists in the conference opener against Hunter, before adding 10 points and seven assists against City Tech. Rivera (13.6 ppg in 2007-08) later scored a career-high 28 points and swiped seven steals in non-conference play versus Centenary (N.J.).
