Men’s & Women’s Indoor Track & Field Compete at the ECAC Championships
Bronx, NY - The CCNY Men’s & Women’s Indoor Track & Field Teams were well represented at this weekends ECAC Championships at Harvard University.
Sophomore Dean Brown leaped an amazing 2.09 meters (6’10.25”) to earn the gold and an automatic qualification for the NCAA Championships. Teammate Najua Ward competed in the 400 meters and finished in 13th place with a time of 50.72 seconds.
Jodyann Raymond anchored the Women’s Team by earning a second place finish n the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.18 seconds. Raymond was accompanied by Sharnalee Stewart who ran the 400 meter dash finishing in 19th place (Time: 1:00.66).
Raymond will look to compete at the Division III NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships as she has provisionally qualified in the 55 meter dash event. The Championships will be held March 14 and 15 at Ohio Northern University.
KristinaPhu Women's Soccer HVWAC Rookie of the Week
For the second time this season, Kristina Phu is the HVWAC Rookie of the Week after leading the vastly improved Beavers to a huge 2-0 win over Medgar Evers on Wednesday. Phu scored a huge insurance goal to seal the victory during the final minutes. After finishing fifth in HVWAC action a year ago, CCNY has managed to compete with the very best the conference has to offer in 2007.
