Bronx, NY - The CCNY Men’s Volleyball team was defeated by the Hunter College Hawks 3-0 (22-30, 21-30, 19-30), on Tuesday evening at the Nat Holman Gymnasium. The Beavers are now 8-9 overall and 8-4 in CUNYAC.
Christopher Aviles had a solid outing for the Beavers as he finished with 12 kills , one assist, and eight digs. While teammate Ratmir Gorelik tallied 10 kills and ten digs. Junior setter Carlos Matute dished out 31 assists.
The Beavers return to action on Saturday, march 8 as they host the CUNYAC Multi-Match Day. CNY will face City Tech at 11: 00 a.m. and will play Medgar Evers at 3:00 p.m.

XavierGonzalez Men's Basketball CUNYAC Rookie of the Week (11/27/07)
Gonzalez averaged 15.5 points per game, shot .444 from the field (4-for-7 3FG) and averaged 4.5 rebounds per contest in the Beavers’ two-game week. He tallied 13 points and seven rebounds to go with two steals against Rutgers-Newark, before scoring 18 points, including a 3-for-6 effort from 3-point range against St. Joseph’s (Patchogue). Gonzalez is averaging 10.7 points per game on the year for CCNY, which ties for second on the team.Gonzalez
