Bronx, NY - The CCNY Men's Volleyball Team (4-11, 2-4 CUNYAC) defeated the Medgar Evers Cougars on Thursday night at the Nat Holman Gym. The Beavers swept the Cougars, 3-0 with scores of 30-6, 30-10, 30-8.
For CCNY, sophomore middle blocker Olu Akindutire tallied game-high 15 kills and two digs. Also asistaing the Beavers was Lylekar Leslie with a total of 10 kills and 4 block solos.
For Medgar Evers, Jeff Campbell totaled 3 kills and 2 digs. While teammates Orando Brewster ans Patrick Parris totale 3 digs each.
CCNY returns to action on Saturday, February 21 as they faced Baruch at 1:00 p.m. and Lehman (3:00 p.m.) at the CUNYAC multi-match at Hunter College.

FLUSHING, N.Y. (Sept. 15, 2008) - The City University of New York Athletic Conference announced its weekly volleyball award winners Monday afternoon, and CCNY junior Floriana Garo was tabbed as Player of the Week after hitting .346 to start the season for the BeaversThe reigning CUNYAC Player of the Year opened up her season in a big way during the Beavers' 2-1 week (2-0 CUNYAC), averaging 3.5 kills, 1.0 aces and 1.7 digs per game while hitting .346 (35-9-75). She opened the year against NCAA participant Montclair State (Sept. 10) with a conference-high 20 kills, 14 digs and three assisted blocks. In Saturday competition against conference foes John Jay and Medgar Evers, Garo combined for 15 kills (.400 hitting pct.) and served up 10 service aces against the latter squad.
