Bronx, NY - The CCNY Men’s Volleyball team suffered a conference loss to the Baruch College Bearcats on Tuesday night at the Nat Holman Gymnasium The Beavers were dopped 0-3 with game scores of 14-30, 28-30 and 21-30. CCNY’s record is now 1-5 overall and 1-1 in CUNYAC.
Freshman opposite Christopher Aviles (Brooklyn, NY) totaled team-high 16 kills and added 11 digs. While senior setter, and this week’s Player of the Week, Rafael Jerez (Bronx, NY) dished out 20 assists for the Beavers.
The beavers return to the court on Thursday, February 7 as they host New Jersey City University in a match scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

Ward posted back-to-back strong outings in the 400-meter dash last week for the Beavers, at the Great Dane Classic (Jan. 25) and one day later at the Wesleyan Invitational (Jan. 26). In the former meet at Albany, Ward placed 23rd overall in the event, clocking in with a time of 50.93. Less than 24 hours later at Wesleyan, Ward’s time of 52.48 was good for fourth place at the predominantly Division III meet.
