Women's Basketball was defeated by Lehman College, 46-63
Bronx, NY  - The CCNY Women’s Basketball Team was defeated by Lehman College 63-46 on Wednesday night. The Beavers' record is now 8-14 overall and 5-7 in CUNYAC.

Freshman forward, Nadia Tijani (Bronx, NY) netted nine points and grabbed eight rebounds in the first half. While teammate, freshman guard Anika Rivera (Bronx, NY) scored five points and snatched four rebounds. As the teams headed into halftime, the scored stood at 35-21 with the Beavers trailing by 14 points.
 
Both teams played a tight game in the second half. The Beavers shot 28.8 percent scoring 25 points, while Lehman shot 29.4 percent.

Tijani finished the game with at total of 17 points and 15 rebounds and Rivera tallied a total of 19 points grabbing 7 rebounds.

The Beavers return to action on Saturday, February 9 as they travel to face Brooklyn for their last regular season game before the CUNYAC Tournament playoffs.

HVWAC Rookie of the Week

For the second time this season, Kristina Phu is the HVWAC Rookie of the Week after leading the vastly improved Beavers to a huge 2-0 win over Medgar Evers on Wednesday. Phu scored a huge insurance goal to seal the victory during the final minutes. After finishing fifth in HVWAC action a year ago, CCNY has managed to compete with the very best the conference has to offer in 2007.
