Women’s Soccer Wins With a Convincing 5-1 Score
Bronx, NY - The CCNY women's soccer team improved to 3-5 with a 5-1 win over Medgar Evers on Monday afternoon at Riverbank State Park.

CCNY took control early in the game as freshman midfielder Kristina Phu scored the first goal for the Beavers in only 9 minutes into regulation time. Phu was assisted by sophomore midfielder Mariela Estrella. The Beavers scored two more times in the first half going into half time with a 3-0 lead.

Sophomore midfielder Carina Subia scored a total of four goals in the game. In the first half she scored at the 36 and 44 minute marks. In the second half Subia scored the last two Beaver goals.

Freshman keeper Angelika Slabiak made one save and allowed only one goal.

The team will travel to CSI on Saturday, October 13 for a game starting at 12:00 noon.

CUNYAC Player of the Week (03/19/08)

A preseason All-America selection by D3baseball.com, Gomez hit .370 (10-for-27) in the Beavers' first eight games of the year, smacking three home runs and driving in nine runs (1.13/game). He went 3-for-3 with a homer and two RBI in CCNY's first victory of the season (vs. Maritime, Mar. 11) before going 2-for-4 with two homers and five RBI to keep his team in the contest against Polytechnic (Mar. 13).
