Bronx, NY-The CCNY Women’s Volleyball Team competed at the Philadelphia Biblical tri-match on Saturday afternoon. The Beavers defeated Gwynedd Mercy 3-0 with scores of 30-25, 32-30-30-20. The second game CCNY dropped Philadelphia Biblical in a 3-2 match-up, 25-30, 21-30, 30-26, 31-29, 15-11. The Beavers end the regular season with a record on 24-5 overall and 8-1 in CUNYAC.
In game one CCNY was led by sophomores, Floriana Garo and Nicole Cascone. Garo tabbed 15 kills and 13 digs. While Cascone assisted with 40 assists, 11 digs and 5 service aces.
Against Philadelphia Biblical junior outside hitter Taisiya Zuyeva (Brooklyn, NY) tallied 18 kills and 17 digs to lead the team. While defensive specialist Leslie Auquilla (Queens, NY) totaled 24 digs.
The Beavers return to action on Tuesday, October 30 as they host Medgar Evers in the CUNYAC Tournament Quarterfinals at 6:00 p.m. in the Nat Holman Gymnasium.

Raymond placed third in the 55-meter dash at the Wesleyan Invitational (Jan. 26), crossing the finish line in 7.34 seconds. This marks the third straight week that Raymond has been named the CUNYAC’s top female track athlete.
