In conjunction with Emancipation and its Legacies, on display in Cohen Library 9/30/13-10/28/13.Standing Their Ground tells the story of small farmers in North Carolina and their enduring quest for the agrarian ideal since emancipation. This program is held in conjunction with the traveling exhibition Emancipation and its Legacies, developed by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History in partnership with the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, and on display in the Cohen Library Atrium September 30 - October 28, 2013. Prof. Petty's talk is co-sponsored by CCNY Libraries and the CCNY History Society.
