Community Partners in Service-Learning
The mission of the City College of New York is to foster student-centered education and the advancement of knowledge through scholarly research. As a public university with public purposes, it also seeks to contribute to the social, cultural and economic life of New York
The Colin Powell Center's Service-Learning Program upholds this mission by encouraging CCNY students to engage in meaningful community service through placements in government agencies, non-profit organizations, educational entities and advocacy groups throughout New York City.
Below are just a few of the organizations that have partnered with a service-learning course at CCNY.
Cornell Cooperative Extension-New York City
Ecumenical Community Development Corporation
The East Harlem Tutorial Program
Episcopal Social Services of New York
The International Rescue Committee
the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care & Prevention
West Harlem Environmental Action Network (WEACT)
