This documentary focuses on a large immigration wave from the Dominican Republic to Spain that originated in the 1990 economic crisis in the country. The documentary examines issues of poverty, gender inequality, unemployment and racism in both place of origin and host country-all of this centered on the 1992 xenophobic murder of Dominican immigrant Lucrecia Pérez that took place two months after her arrival to Spain.
