This 12-track CD is the first professionally recorded collection of Haitian gagá music originally from the Dominican Republic. This musical production by Roldán Mármol fuses gagá with modern pop rhythms including jazz, electronics, rock as well as local afro-Dominican rhythms such as merengue, palo and bachata music. Featuring gagá groups from San Pedro de Macorís, San Luis, La Romana and Barahona and individual artists such as Xiomara Fortuna, Luis Días, Cristina Almonte, Rafelito Mirabal, July Almonte, Magic Mejía, Felix García and Sandy Gabriel.
