New York Metro Area Partnership for Service-Learning (NYMAPS)
     
OVERVIEW
The New York Metro Area Partnership for Service-Learning (NYMAPS) is a coalition of colleges, universities and nonprofit organizations dedicated to realizing the civic mission of higher education and to advancing service-learning and other forms of civic engagement across the New York Metro Area.  We seek to promote experiential learning, active citizenship, and social responsibility among college students, and to address community-identified needs through the formation of sustainable, mutually-beneficial community/campus partnerships.

HISTORY
Since its inception in 2006, NYMAPS has provided technical assistance and professional development opportunities for faculty and campus staff to develop service-learning courses and engage in community-based research and other forms of civic engagement.
