Syed-HaiderSyed Haider, a native of Pakistan, is a junior majoring in biology at City College. He became interested in medicine on visits to a neurologist with his grandmother. As an aspiring physician, Syed considers public policy to be an avenue through which medicine can change people’s lives. His mission is to serve, educate, and care for the community, and to reduce health disparities through active citizenship. Since his freshman year, Syed has been involved with Alpha Epsilon Delta, a community-service based organization and a premedical honor society. This organization has enabled Syed to serve various ethnic communities, as has working with the Association to Benefit Children and the Father’s Heart Ministries’ hunger prevention program. Syed hopes to improve lives by addressing the critical public health issues that communities face.
