Tori-Ann Preston
Dobrich New Americans Scholar, 2012-2014
Toni-Ann Preston, a native of St. Catherine, Jamaica, is pursuing a dual degree in international studies and political science. In her freshman year of high school, she participated in the Junior State of America program, where for a month she attended classes at Yale University on policy issues, attended weekly policy symposiums, and debated fellow high school students from around the world. Because of this opportunity and her newly developed interests in international public policy and law, Toni-Ann went on to take law classes in her sophomore year, offered to high school students at Columbia University. At CCNY, Toni-Ann’s interest in public policy continues to grow with a specific interest in developing countries. Ultimately, she hopes to pursue a Master’s degree in international public policy and affairs so that she can become an active agent in the creating and implementing of polices for developing countries like her native island of Jamaica.
