| Sarah M. Adams New York Life Graduate Fellow, 2009-2010 Sarah M. Adams is a second year graduate student, pursuing an M.A. in American history at CCNY. Sarah intends to pursue a Ph.D. in history and hopes to zero in on the settlement experience of English-speaking Caribbean immigrants in the United States.

| Eleanor Fallon New York Life Undergraduate Scholar, 2008-2010 Eleanor Fallon is a pre-med major at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education. | Rodley Ferguson New York Life Graduate Fellow, 2009-2010 Rodley graduated Magna Cum Laude from CCNY in 2004, earning a B.S. in mathematics and economics. He is currently pursuing an M.A in mathematics at CCNY and was accepted into the New York City Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

| Don Gomez Colin Powell Fellow, 2008-2010 Don Gomez, of Queens, served with the famed 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army for five years, and deployed to Iraq in 2003 and 2005. | Hashim Hassan New York Life Undergraduate Scholar, 2008-2010 Hashim Hassan grew up in Sudan, but left first for Egypt and then the United States due to civil unrest. | Vilma La Torre New York Life Graduate Fellow, 2009-2010 Vilma Arriaran La Torre completed her undergraduate studies in chemical engineering at the University of Pedro Ruiz Gallo, Peru, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in civil engineering at CCNY. Her research involves measuring chemicals present in air particulate matter.

| Chirag Raval New York Life Graduate Fellow, 2009-2010 Chirag Raval received his B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware in 2005 and a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from The Graduate Center at CUNY in 2012.His research focuses on studying prelesional events which trigger the onset of atherosclerosis, a leading concern for Americans today. | | Sebastian Rubino Dobrich New Americans Scholar, 2008-2010 Sebastian Rubino, a fourth-year medical student at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, combines his science studies with an interest in policy. In particular, he hopes to effect change in health-care policy while seeking to eradicate other indicators of poor health, such as low socio-economic status.
