rinosha majeedRinosha Majeed, a native of Sri Lanka, is a biomedical engineering student at the Grove School of Engineering. Rinosha attended the High School for Math, Science, and Engineering at City College where, beginning in her junior year, she participated in an internship program with Mount Sinai Medical Center. Throughout that summer and her senior year, she worked there extensively in the lab of Dr. Abe Etsuko. This experience resulted in her inclusion on the research paper, “High-Mobility Group Box Proteins Modulate Tumor Necrosis Factor- Expression in Osteoclastogenesis via a Novel Deoxyribonucleic Acid Sequence” in the Journal of Molecular Endocrinology.  An avid participant of community service projects, Rinosha founded the CCNY Cares Club, a club dedicated to community service. Through CCNY Cares, Rinosha hopes to introduce growing numbers of students to volunteer work in New York City and to making a difference in their communities. Rinosha’s goal is to build a bridge between engineering and policy-making and to shed light on the importance of biomedical devices in health care.
