General Education Assessment

The new General Education requirement (implemented fully in Fall 2008) is at the heart of the educational mission of The City College of New York;  our faculty intend for students to graduate not only with essential skills in writing, critical thinking, information literacy and quantitative reasoning, but with the excitement of academic discovery in a variety of disciplines and a firm grounding in ethics. The educational mission of The City College of New York is to provide a diverse student body with opportunities to achieve academically, creatively, and professionally in their chosen fields.
