Welcome to the Office of Public Safety
The Office of Public Safety is here to provide a safe and secure environment for The City College community. We monitor access to campus facilities, oversee the campus alarm systems, and patrol the campus 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. We also provide escort service to public transportation areas. We plan all of our activities with a dedication to protect every member of our community and to secure personal and College property. Our close work with the City University of New York Department of Public Safety and Security and the New York police and fire departments adds to our ability to respond to emergencies.
Public Safety staff includes investigators, Campus Peace Officers, and private security guards. Our Peace Officers serve as ambassadors to members of the community and to CCNY visitors. They act primarily as a deterrent force but are fully trained to take action if a crime is committed, and have arrest powers.
We welcome every opportunity to advise and consult with all members of the CCNY community about your personal safety, and about maintaining and promoting an atmosphere conducive to the work of this great college.
