RULES AND REGULATIONS
Parking permits are not transferable. The permit is valid for the permit holder and his/her vehicle which is registered with the Public Safety office. All permits must be visibly displayed affixed to the vehicle's windshield at all times while it is parked on campus.
Because of a shortage of parking spaces, any person whose reserved space is empty after 10 am relinquishes that space for the remainder of the day unless he/she notifies the parking division by calling ext. 7183 or faxing us at ext. 7991. Overnight parking on campus is prohibited unless approved by Public Safety.
The speed limit on College property including South Campus and the NAC lot is 5 MPH.
Do not block fire hydrants or park in bus stops or loading zones (indicated by tiger stripes painted on the roadway). The NYC Police or Department of Traffic control will issue you a summons!
Unauthorized parking and/or failure to display a permit in a campus parking space can result in the vehicle being immobilized with a wheel lug. A fine of $25 is imposed for lug removal. Violators may be subject to revocation of their on campus parking privileges.
You risk getting a city issued summons if you park on Convent Avenue, or if you park on St. Nicholas Terrace without a permit. Your car may also be towed away by the Department of Traffic due to emergencies (snow removal, etc.).
The fee for replacing lost or destroyed parking permits is $5.
The City College of New York, The City University of New York, the city of New York and the state of New York are not responsible for personal property left in a vehicle of for damage sustained to a vehicle while parked on campus.
