CCNY PROFESSIONAL RECRUITING PROGRAMS
The Career Center offers extensive online and in-person job search and placement resources, including Career Placement Assistance:

Recruitment Programs - operate during the academic year, attracting more than 230 employers looking to recruit CCNY graduates for job opportunities.

Career Fairs - Attract more than 125 employers interested in hiring City College students. The Fall Fair focuses on science, engineering, and technology, while the Spring fairs are campus wide and open to all disciplines.

Resume Referral Services - Available throughout the year. Many opportunities are available in the metropolitan area. Referred students will interview at employer sites.

Resume Critiques & Employment Advising - Participation in Professional Recruitment Programs provides resume and employment advisement, and coaching services.

Special Events - Organized and presented at the request of our participating employers. These events include Employer Information Sessions, exclusive company recruitment events, and site visits.
CAREER EDUCATION & PLANNING

Career Planning Tools - “Do What You Are” and “Focus V2” provide you with an inventory of personal traits and preferences and explain how they are related to your choice of major and career.

The Career Clinic - The Walk-in Career Clinic offers students an immediate quick response to career-related questions. Inquire at the Career Center for Clinic hours.

Career Development Workshops – Workshops on resume writing, letters of inquiry, job search techniques, networking for success, and interviewing skills, prepare you for internship, co-op, summer and permanent placement.

Company Tours – Provide students the opportunity to learn first-hand about careers and jobs during employer site visits. Students make great contacts for internships and jobs, as well as develop networking skills. Contact the Career Center for a calendar of upcoming tours.

Networking – Connects enthusiasm with experience to provide 80% of all job opportunities. Develop networking resources and strategies, and practice networking skills with knowledgeable and influential professionals in various fields of interest registered on our online network of Alumni Mentors.

CAREER RESOURCES

Online Career & Job Search – Provides Students and alumni with online job search assistance. The Center has various search tools such as Vault.com, Wetfeet.com, and H1B Visa and going globally. Visit the Center’s Web site at www.ccnycareercenter.org for more information.

Career Library – Contains an extensive collection of reference materials, directories, career-related literature, graduate and professional school information, company/organization annual reports, videotapes, and recruitment literature.

Career Computer Center – Provides terminals for City College student use to search for jobs or internships, type a resume or letter of inquiry, as well as surf the Internet. Contact the Center for Lab hours.

Self-Service – Includes resumes and cover letter samples, web sites for careers and jobs, as well as salary data, market trends, and GRE exam brochures.

Video Center – provides videos on career and job search topics such as: interviewing techniques; job search strategies; dress for success; professional etiquette; and company/organization videos.
