Belong. The first priority in Campus Ministry is to create a welcoming environment where all members of The City College of New York student body can feel at home. By creating an environment of engage hospitality we can listen and respond to the needs of our students and one another.
Believe. We support and accompany our students through transformative expressions of faith; working to enrich spiritual life on campus and in the surrounding community. Whether by singing in the gospel choir or a member of our numerous religious clubs on campus, our students are encouraged to experience their faith in a diverse context where it can deepen and grow.
Become. Faith is a dynamic experience; a movement of spirit in our daily life. In answering the call we provide programs and opportunities for worship and service that strive to empower our students with the skills of spiritual discernment and prayerful reflection.
Campus Ministry promotes spiritual growth and faith formation on and off campus. We take the University mission to heart in all that we do; our programs are created to encourage learning, to care for the whole person, and to foster the service of faith and the promotion of justice. Rooted in the College’s identity and the heritage, Campus Ministry’s outreach embraces people of all faith traditions. In Campus Ministry you will find a welcoming environment where people can express their faith passionately and discern their vocation in community. CCNY’s Campus Ministry truly is a place to belong, to believe, and to become.
Lavender’s thought of the Week
“Prayer is not just spending time with God. It is partly that—but if it ends there, it is fruitless. No, prayer is dynamic. Authentic prayer changes us—unmasks us—strips us—indicates where growth is needed.” St. Teresa of Avila
