College is a time of new challenges and life adjustments. Coping with change can be difficult. Feelings of stress, anxiety, depression and inadequacy may arise for many students. If a student does not seek counseling services, these feelings may affect academic success and his/her personal relationships.

 

Seeking help may be difficult for some students. The Wellness and Counseling Center strives to provide a warm and trusting atmosphere to support you through your struggles.

 

The Wellness and Counseling Center (WCC) provides the following free and confidential counseling services to CCNY students:

 

  • Individual Counseling
  • Group Counseling
  • Personal Crisis
  • Personal Consultation
  • Theme-Centered Workshops
  • Mental Health Screening
  • Suicide Prevention
  • Referral to Other Services

 

 

WCC can help students with:

 

  • Adjustment to college
  • Adjustment to a new place/culture/lifestyle
  • Homesickness
  • Difficulties with academic achievement
  • Conflict in relationships
  • Grief counseling
  • Personal and/or family crisis
  • Feelings of inadequacy /loneliness
  • Depression or anxiety
  • Sexual identity/orientation
  • Sexual harassment/assault
  • Traumatic experiences

 

 

*  Counseling services are also offered in Spanish.
