Evaluation and Testing

CUNY Proficiency Exam (CPE)
Students must pass the CUNY Proficiency Examination (CPE) by the time they have completed their 60th credit. The Office of Evaluation and Testing will make every attempt to contact eligible students, but it is the responsibility of the student to register for the exam in a timely manner. Those students with grade point averages 2.0 or above take the CPE for the first time between the 45th and 60th credit. A student who fails the CPE the first time has two more opportunities to pass the exam.
