How to Help Organize an event. Teach a course. Join a Working Group. There are lots of ways to participate in the Sustainable CCNY Project.
Join a working group. CCNY Green is led by a task force representing faculty, students and administrators. The task force members lead working groups which will plan the activities, conduct the required surveys and determine the standards (in conjunction with the CUNY committees doing this university-wide) for things like purchasing and construction. If you are interested in active participation in helping make CCNY a sustainable campus, we encourage you to serve on a working group and have a direct impact on the initiative.
The Working Groups are:
Curriculum and Research Includes programs and individual courses in all disciplines, including continuing education, and seeking external funding for research in all disciplines
Student Affairs Includes programs that encourage student involvement in environmental issues
Procurement Includes purchasing of furniture, supplies and equipment
Facilities Includes energy efficiency, operations, maintenance, and grounds keeping
Planning, Construction and Renovation Includes both new building construction and renovation of existing facilities
Transportation Includes campus fleet operations, parking and commuting options
Waste Management Includes recycling and reuse
