Charge Back Policy (Billable Services)
The Physical Plant Service department's goal is to maximize productivity under the basic maintenance services category. It is however, important to note that the PPS budget is developed in order to cover basic maintenance alone.
Building modifications, upgrades and renovations must be funded through alternate funding sources.
Services that are beyond the basic services, in scope or in nature, must be provided on a "fee" or on a "time and material" basis under the PPS "charge back" policy. Requests for facilities upgrades, space renovations or other special requests will be referred back to the Dean or Vice President of the area requesting the work with an estimate of the funds necessary to complete the work.
New Charge Back Policy
For work requested must be
paid first, and financial transfer of funds must be confirmed before any work begins. Anyone owing PPS for prior work performed must reimburse Physical Plant before any future request can be granted.
Consideration will be given to minor special requests without charge back. Work required in conjunction with relocation's mandated by the Administration (i.e. swing space moves) will be exempted from the charge back policy.
Policies concerning projects:
- Campus emergencies will take priority over any projects being conducted
regardless of their status or at the time being performed. - All project work will strictly be conducted after normal working hours and
charged at overtime rates . - If actual work performed takes less time then the estimate given, Physical
Plant Services will return an invoice reflecting the actual cost.
