About Administrative Computing
Administrative Computing is a branch of Information Technology and Computer Services and is responsible for the computing needs of most departments that serve City College's administrative computing needs. This department provides a broad range of services to the various departments.

The following is a summary of the services:
Computer hardware and software support – Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of user workstations and file servers (similar function to a help desk).
Application implementation and development – This department creates applications to enhance departmental workflow and communications. This department has worked on projects ranging from database design to website programming.
Network installation and certification – This department is capable of handling small cabling jobs, network certifications, and router setups. This department monitors and manages all departmental servers and local area networks for those administrative units supported by this group. It also works with other computing and networking units on monitoring and troubleshooting the campus network backbone.
Application Support – This department provides assistance and solutions to problems and user questions regarding the use of various applications. The department also works with vendors to implement and maintain turn key software solutions.
Data integrity check backup – This department monitors the data integrity for existing applications and troubleshooting when needed. In addition, it monitors the backup operation for all the servers and desktop computers.
IT Security for administrative departments – This department implements and maintains a network of encrypted tunnels for intra-departmental communications. It also provides automated patch management for software applications as well as operating system and anti-virus updates.
