DegreeWorks is a degree audit and academic advising tool that has been purchased by CUNY and is being implemented across the university. DegreeWorks, which does not replace SIMS, is able to define complex degree requirements and provide real time academic advising capabilities for students and advisors such as unlimited capability to make notes regarding advising sessions, web-based exception processing, a powerful “what if” planning mode, and reporting tools for research and analysis. Both faculty and professional staff advisors will be involved in the implementation and testing of the program.

This powerful program will reduce the tedious aspects of advising by allowing students and advisors to see completed and remaining degree requirements at a glance, simplifying the process of course selection. Advisors will be freed to focus on students’ academic and career goals.
