About the Office of Academic Affairs The Office of Academic Affairs supports the mission of The City College of New York by supporting and enhancing a dynamic and welcoming environment in which students and faculty achieve their academic and professional goals.
The Office of Academic Affairs, under the leadership of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs & Provost, is responsible for overseeing the Division of Academic Affairs, which includes the College of Liberal Arts and Science,the Schools of Architecture, Education, Engineering and the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education as well as many of the offices that support the educational endeavors of the College.
The Provost upholds the highest academic and intellectual quality through oversight of faculty appointments,the promotion and tenure process, and the development of the College’s various academic programs. Working with the Deans, faculty committees, and senior administrators, the Office of Academic Affairs develops the institution's academic priorities and oversees their implementation, including the academic budgets necessary to achieve those priorities. This Office also facilitates academic policies, procedures, and standards for both students and faculty.
