Recent efforts to authorize The City College to grant Ph.D. degrees in engineering, and joint Ph.D. degrees with the Graduate Center in the sciences have relied on an External Review of Doctoral Education in CUNY. The Board of Trustees approved the resolutions granting these authorities to The City College in its meeting on February 25, 2008.
