FACULTY
VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT The
Psychology Department of the City College of the City University of New York
invites applications from licensed APA-accredited neuropsychologists for a
full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor to
begin September 2013. The Psychology Department is a vibrant, diverse
department serving over 1000 undergraduate majors, over 100 masters students in
both a General Psychology and Mental Health Counseling program, and
participating in two doctoral programs, an APA-accredited clinical psychology
program and a cognitive neuroscience program. The ideal candidate has a primary
interest and clinical experience in the assessment of psychiatric and
neurological disorders with a demonstrated history or interest in
interdisciplinary translational collaboration to complement current
departmental areas of research focus, which include Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder, Substance Use Disorder, and Borderline Personality Disorder. Interest
in developmental learning disabilities would also be welcome. We seek a
candidate with a record of clinical scholarship around issues facing minority
and underserved populations. Successful applicants will welcome participation
in the many programs the Department offers and the opportunities for
interdisciplinary collaboration within the department, and with the social
medicine (Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education) and biomedical
engineering (Grove School of Engineering) programs, as well as with local
community clinics and hospitals.
Qualifications and Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D.
in clinical psychology from an accredited program is required, with graduate or
post-doctoral training in neuropsychology. The successful candidate is
expected to maintain an active program of research, engage in collaborative
translational research, publish theoretical and empirical research in top-tier
journals, be committed to both undergraduate and graduate education, and
provide clinical supervision to doctoral students. Candidates are expected to
have a strong potential for external funding.
