Position Description and Duties GENERAL DUTIES Conducts academic research in connection with CUNY programs; may assist faculty, staff, and students in conducting research and lead research efforts involving others. CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION The Research Associate will carry out independent research in the area of meso-scale modeling related to electrochemical and thermal energy storage systems, under the general direction of the institute Director. Specifically, the research associate will be responsible for developing theories and computational methods based on phase field and lattice Boltzmann techniques to study interfacial phenomena associated with dendrite formation and nanoemulsions. Qualifications and Requirements NIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Doctoral Degree in a related field and demonstrated research ability. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science or engineering, physics, or physical chemistry, with 3 years modeling experience after the Ph.D. and an outstanding research of publication and accomplishment preferred. Experience in phase field modeling and lattice Boltzmann modeling preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with a record of outstanding innovation and publication in peer reviewed journals and with a record of successful grant funding. |
