Slide Collection
The Library contains a collection of close to 60,000 slides available to students preparing class presentations. Students may also use these online resources:
CCNY Art Collection
CCNY Art and Architecture Image Collection
ARTstor
Students in non-Architecture classes must obtain permission from the Visual Resources Librarian to use the collection.
Slides can be reserved up to one week in advance. Students leave their IDs in the Library when picking up their slides and must return them immediately after the presentation. If the Library is closed by the time the class ends, the instructor is responsible for returning slides checked out by his/her students.
Exposure to light or dust will damage slide transparencies beyond repair. Glass slide mounts are fragile and easily broken. Please take proper care of checked-out slides. Slides should be handled gently and should never be left under direct sunlight.
If students need images not in collection, the Library staff may be able to provide the labor for making personal slides at $2.00 per slide. This charge covers labor only; the student is responsible for the cost of film and processing. This service depends upon available staffing at the time of the request and requires two weeks’ notice.
