POSITION DESCRIPTION AND
DUTIES
|
|
|
|
|
The School of Education
invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track (professorial) or CCE
(lecturer) faculty position to begin Fall 2008. Primary responsibilities will
be to teach undergraduate courses in Secondary Spanish education program
(including Methods of Teaching Spanish, Seminar on the Teaching of Spanish
and Literacy), and the preparing and supervising of student teachers. Other
responsibilities include advising students and curriculum development,
particularly the graduate curriculum in Secondary Spanish education, as well
as serving on faculty committees. Professorial faculty are
expected to engage in scholarly activities and publication.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
|
|
|
|
|
For a Lecturer
appointment, a Masters degree is required. For a professorial appointment, a
doctorate is required, as well as an emerging or demonstrated record of
research. Candidates must have native speaking proficiency in Spanish. Other
qualifications include formal preparation in Secondary Spanish Education or
related area, and teaching experience on a secondary level. Candidates should
also have experience providing professorial development for teachers, such as
supervising pre-and in-service teachers.
