     Hello There—I am Dr. Denise L. McLurkin, an assistant professor in the Teaching, Learning and Cultures department and Childhood Education program. I am originally from sunny southern California where I  taught in elementary and alternative education classroom settings. While working on my doctorate at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) I taught literacy methods classes and supervised student teachers.  Currently I am the Undergraduate Coordinator,  teach the undergraduate literacy methods classes (EDCE 32300 & EDCE 32310) and advise undergraduate Childhood Education students.
