CWE Student Government
The Center has created a student government composed of (5) students elected by their peers to represent the interests of the student body. As the Student Government of CWE, our mission is the following:
To represent the needs, concerns and issues of and for the student body of CWE.
To serve as ambassadors of and for CWE in the community as well as a liaison for student government activities on the main campus of City College.
To work with faculty (both at CWE and the main campus) in order to serve the needs of the CWE student body.
To promote and sponsor activities that would foster harmonious relationships for CWE students with the surrounding communities, associations and businesses.

I transferred to City College's Center for Worker Education in Spring 2011. My concentration is Public Administration and it is my goal to attend law school upon completing my undergraduate degree. As part of the student government I want to be a link between the students and the administration of the college. I'm here at your service.

"Hi, Everyone! I just wanted you to know that I am so excited for you and am honored to be apart of your decision to advance your academic career. I returned to school, after having my daughter and entering the work force, so I am empathetic to those of you who are resuming this task a little later in life and I want to take this time to encourage you. I know it's a little daunting, maybe even a little scary, returning to school. But, I want you to know that you have an amazing team of advisors, teachers and faculty that are invested in your success and want to see you realize your potential and maybe discover a few things you never thought you could do! To all my fellow students, you have my support and faith, should you ever feel like you are not being heard, reach out to me or any SGCWE member on this panel and we will work diligently to arrange for redress and remedy on your behalf. Have a great year!"
Jorge, Freddie
I am a results-oriented human service professional with over six years of experience. During my time at BMCC, I participated in both the Latino Honor Society and the Honor Society of Black Student Scholars. Through my participation, I learned that "in order to be a great leader you have to become a better listener." I am committed to strengthening the student body by improving the relationship amongst student and faculty.
