This accreditation covers initial teacher preparation programs and advanced educator preparation programs. NCATE is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation to accredit programs for the preparation of teachers and other professional school personnel. |

The School of Education faculty and administration value the processes of accreditation and program approval. This is an important part of our commitment to preparing knowledgeable, reflective and caring educators who are qualified and committed to teaching and leading in diverse communities. The accreditation process encourages university personnel and public school partners to re-evaluate program components and program coherence to ensure that national and state standards are addressed. Feedback obtained during this process will be used for quality assurance and improvement of educator programs.
