Readers & Writers Café

The Readers and Writers Café is the presentation and celebration of work done by the children, families and teachers of the Transformative Literacy Project. Once a week throughout the semester the children have been pursuing an inquiry with the teachers in order to develop their literacy. At the same time family members have met to pursue their own inquiries and share the ways they see literacy happening in their families and communities. In the process, the teachers and the families have deepened and developed their abilities to understand and support literacy growth. Everyone has been transformed in some way. We share those moments of transformation here in the Readers and Writers Café. Please join us and celebrate the hard work of these exceptional students and nascent scholar activists. |
