The Literacy Program for Children and Teacher beginning October 8th
Wednesday, September 30

After-School Literacy Enrichment (10-week sessions beginning in Oct and February). A free program for children and teens ages 4 to 17 will meet on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 4:45-6:15 this fall. Run by the Transformative Literacy Program, the after-school program has been successfully operating and serving the community for over seven years. In the program, students are partnered with teachers to work together on reading, writing, the arts and language. Professor Lisa Simon, Program Supervisor, attributes the program's success to the dedication of its teachers, all of whom specialize in literacy, as well as the literacy program's commitment to providing high quality and engaging educational opportunities for New York City children. Fall classes begin Thursday, October 8 or Tuesday, October 13th and a few spaces are still available.
