Also, please be sure you remind yourself of what is on the updated science education web pages for your particular program. You are responsible for following all guidelines posted there. Richard Steinberg Program Head, Middle and Secondary Science Education steinberg@ccny.cuny.edu
APPLICATION FOR PROGRAM ADMISSION (for non-matriculated students, Project Starship Participants)
If you are currently a non-matriculated student and would like to enroll at CCNY, the application deadline for spring semester is November 15. Note that there is normally a 9-credit limit for non-matriculated students.
APPLICATION FOR STUDENT TEACHING (EDSE 0600G / 46300)
The application deadline for EDSE 0600G / 46300 for the spring semester is November 17, but you should start the process much sooner. You should go to the field office to get an application. If you do not have a provisional teaching certificate you are still required to enroll even if you are currently employed as a teacher. If you have not done so already, you should sign up for the LAST and CST and for the ATSW as soon as possible. Details are available at http://www.nystce.nesinc.com/. For questions or information on workshops for these exams, you could go to the School of Education Learning and Technology Resource Center (NAC 3/226, X7801) or see me. These exams are mandatory.
REGISTRATION FOR EDSE 0200I (Spring 2008)
This should be taken in your last semester here. The only way to register is during walk in registration. Dates have not been posted yet, but are usually the week before the semester. Registration is done on a first come first served basis until the class is fill, but there are usually no problems with registering unless you miss walk in registration. Bring your LAST and CST scores with you. (You need to have completed the exams by January to be eligible for 0200I.)
APPLICATION FOR GRADUATION
If you are finishing your program, you must apply for graduation by November 1. See the registrar immediately (in person or at http://www1.ccny.cuny.edu/current/registrar/application-for-graduation.cfm) for their strict instructions and deadlines. You should also see the program and field work offices web pages for guidelines about certification that you need to follow.
