Undergraduate Studies in Secondary Science

NEW Undergraduate Science Majors interested in a scholarship/internship program with the New York Hall of Science should contact Richard Steinberg at steinberg@ccny.cuny.edu.

Undergraduate students interested in obtaining teacher certification in secondary science should fulfill the requirements listed below. Note that the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Atmospheric Science, and Physics all offer specific tracks for majors interested in becoming teachers.

City College does not currently offer a Bachelor's Degree in Science Education.

Requirements for the program leading to teacher certification in secondary science are:

  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in a field of science (e.g. biology, chemistry, earth and atmospheric science)
  • Education courses:

Click here if admitted after 2007 but before summer 2011

Click here if admitted for summer 2011 or later

  • Passing scores on LAST, ATS-W, and CST
