About Us
Program Educational Objectives

The objectives of the program are that holders of CCNY's Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering will, in their careers,

  1. apply scientific and engineering principles, rigorous analysis and creative design in computer engineering to meet the needs of society;
  2. communicate clearly, participate effectively in teams, and assume leadership roles;
  3. contribute to the field of computer engineering, participate in professional societies, maintain current knowledge in the field, and pursue advanced studies; and
  4. understand and demonstrate professional responsibility and professional ethics.

Program Outcomes

We strive to impart the following in our curriculum:

  1. an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering.
  2. an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
  3. an ability to design a system, component or a process to meet desired needs.
  4. an ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
  5. an ability to identify, formulate and solve real world computer engineering problems.
  6. an understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
  7. an ability to communicate effectively.
  8. the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in global and societal context.
  9. a recognition for the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning.
  10. a knowledge of contemporary issues.
  11. an ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
  12. competence in computational and simulation tools.
  13. competence in engineering probability.
