Sponsored by Microsoft Research, the ACM Student Research Competition is an internationally recognized venue enabling students to present their latest research. This competition is held in different conferences. EE major Bushra Ahsan submitted her work in the competition that occured at the conference held with the Parallel Architectures and Compilation Techniques conference (PACT-2009). She ended up first in the graduate category for her Ph.D work supervised by Prof. Mohamed Zahran. The competition results were announced on Tuesday (Sep 15th).
The SRC consists of two rounds: a poster session and a presentation session. A panel of judges will select a number of finalists from the poster session, who will be invited to the presentation session at PACT'09 and compete for the prizes. The evaluation will be concentrated on the quality of both visual and oral presentation, the research methods, and the significance of contribution. Bushra took first place in the graduate category. |
