On Saturday, November 7, 2009, the President of Engineers Without Borders (EWB-CCNY), Svetlana Fisher, and the Project Manager, Joanna Bonfiglio, gave a 15 minute presentation at the United Nations as part of a water panel for Rotary International Day. Both CCNY students have traveled to Honduras twice in the last year to develop clean water systems for residents in three small towns; this included the design and implementation of latrines, water basins, gray water management, pipeline systems, and water tank modifications.
 
That evening there was a fundraiser from which all proceeds were donated to EWB-CCNY to help continue their work in Honduras. The event was held on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at World Bar in the Trump Tower across from the United Nations on 1st Ave. at E. 48th Street.
